The Festival

For once, Eve was happy that Max was there, she may have even smiled softly at him when she mouthed "thank you" to him as she dusted herself off. She would't admit that though. She looked over and saw the dragon as well and her eyes were the size of dinner plates. She looked at Max when he asked her if she would join him with this and scoffed. "You really think I would say no? You don't know me well then, dog breath." She stared at him as she got a little closer to the lizard as well to avoid the beast as well.

"I think what Alavda means is.." Lynn says as she loops and arm around Alavda's arm. "Is that we are not going unless you are, we will not have the thought of you two running off into danger and going the other direction knowing that we could have helped or worse, things happening to you that we could have prevented. So unless you feel like joining us in hiding, we are not going anywhere." Lynn stated, standing straight and with her chest slightly puffed out, she was committed to what she said, even if that wasn't what Alavda meant.

[Alavda Noir]

Alavda had reached out to grab Thomas on impulse. The moment he had turned to go and fight the dragon, she had a flashback to the last time he had left her. Like so many years before, Alavda knew that if he went, she would never see him again. Now Thomas was waiting for her to explain herself and she found herself without words. Just how to tell him? So when Lynn gave her support, she breathed a sigh of relief.

"She's right. We have only just come together after so many years apart." she took a deep breath to steady her voice, "Remember what happened the last time you left me? I would feel safer if you came with us. Who knows what else is lurking? The dragon may be a cover." She was reaching for reasons to make him come with her. She hoped it would work.

Thomas stared at both women, not even trying to hide his frustration, "I'm over a thousand years old. I've survived this long for a reason." he grumbled. He was about to just ignore them and go on to help with the battle against the dragon when Alavda found a weak spot. He also remembered parting at that time. No, there was no imminent danger, but she had begged him not to go then either.

He would have fought more about this. Thomas had survived battles and hardship. He was no sheltered animal that had never seen blood drawn in violence. But the truth of the matter was, he did not want to leave her yet either.

He raked a hand though his hair, disgusted by his own romantic heart and growled, "Alright then. You win, Love. I'll come with the both of you." he turned to Adrian, "I'm sure you'll fair just fine without me?"

"I would like your help, but you are right. I do have enough of my people here to corral this creature." Adrian called out, "Be safe you three!" and Adrian disappeared into the crowd.

After Adrain left, Thomas turned to both weomen and stared them down. "I'll come with you. But on the VERY slight chance that this is a cover for something, you both have to do as I say if anything happens. Alright? If I say run you both run. No questions. Am I clear?" he didn't wait for them to answer, "Let's go then, ladies." he gripped Alavda's hand and lead the women away from the festival location.

Max saw her shock at the size of the dragon. He gave her a wicked grin and said, "We got this! Trent and Jaylene should be around here somewhere...Trent might be heading for the dragon. We should try and find the two of them if we can." Max looked at Evie and decided to get her back for the dog breath comment, "You ready crazy cat lady?" Then, because he felt like it, he swatted her butt and quickly changed into a wolf and put some distance between them. He turned around and waved his tail before he gave her the best grin he could with his wolf skin on.
