Getting to Know You
Name:
Bavol (no last name, but he may tell you that it’s Golding because gold…)
Age:
He is at least 2000 years old
Gender:
Male
Sexual Orientation:
Straight
Species:
Dragon
What makes you, you!
Personality:
Devious, greedy, proud, and prone to whimsy, Bavol is a very scary, yet interesting creature to interact with. Being a carnivorous dragon, he views most things smaller than him as a potential meal. However, much like a cat, he’s been known to play with his prey before killing it (he thinks it’s funny). Much like a fairy, he loves to make deals that may or may not end well for the person making the deal with him. Being a dragon, naturally he is extremely territorial.
Even though he is old and likes to scare his food, he does have a sense of humor. A rather twisted, morbid one, but he DOES have one! He finds it rather amusing when mortals decide to placate his supposed wrath by offering maidens for him to marry. He never understood why they would think that he, a mighty dragon, would marry something that he would just end up picking out of his teeth. Ah well…easy snack. Even so, sometimes he wishes they would leave him be so that he can roll around and nap in his hoard.
Currently, he tends to look out for himself, but once, he was obsessively loyal to a Fey.
Looks:
He’s a huge creature, about the size of a large passenger airplane. His catlike eyes almost glow blue and his thick scales resemble the colors of the sky at night. When he is shifted into a human, he looks as if he is from somewhere around the Mediterranean, having olive skin, and black hair (his eyes remain the same), but his accent is a cross between British and American. No one can really tell which.
Likes:
Dislikes:
Goals
To guard his hoard and to add to his collection.
Fears
He will say that he fears nothing, but that is not true. He fears losing his hoard.
Backstory
Family:
He has no biological family that he knows of. The one person that he considered family is believed to be long dead.
Bio:
Bavol’s egg was taken care of by a fey noble. He hatched in this noble’s household and was raised to be the noble’s winged steed. For years, the two of the wreaked havoc in whatever war or scuffle they got involved in. Bavol became known by many names during that time, the most popular being Marwolaeth: Death. One day, his master had need of him to be in a human shape, so the fey pierced his ear with an ancient jewel that was enchanted to grant Bevol the ability to shape shift into a human.
Four Centuries ago, his master had a rather violent disappearance and the evidence has shown that the fey noble is most likely dead. Having no master, Bavol put his full attention on building his hoard like any dragon worth his salt would. He hid his hoard on an island and he has resided there for years, defending it, taken in young maidens that he would keep for an easy snack. In his hoard, he keeps highly coveted magical treasures, precious jewels, gold, and magical knowledge.
The End of the Segment
Strengths:
Bavol breathes fire. He can also fly and is super big. He also has knowledge of magic that is lost to the rest of the world. He may share these secrets…for a price. But beware, he may not give you all the vital information that you would need to successfully use whatever he shared with you. Due to an enchanted jewel that is pierced in his ear, he can shift into a human shape for a week tops.
Weaknesses:
He is too proud. He will often underestimate someone because he believes he is far more superior to them. He doesn’t share very well, and is known for throwing catastrophic hissy fits when something as small as a thimble goes missing from his hoard. Also, confining himself to a cave on an island makes him a little ignorant of how things are done among mortals. He is unfamiliar with most things modern. He has a soft spot for female fey.
What side does your character take (Islanders or FASA):
He sides with the Islanders because FASA is more likely to steal from his beloved hoard.
