Alavda put on a smile when Lynn said that it was an old friend she was talking to, "Yes? I wish I could have met him." her smile turned teasing, "Is it someone special, Lynn?" she nudged Lynn with her shoulder playfully.
When Lynn hugged Alavda, she stiffened only because she wasn't expecting it. But it only lasted a moment before she hugged her back, "I am happy to see you, too, Lynn. We mustn't loose touch again, yes?" At Lynn's comment that Alavda should be on some large stage, Alavda gave an inelegant snort and pulled away, "That would be nice, but..." her green eyes darted toward the ocean for a second, "I am glad I am not a label as you say. I tried this with the opera, but it saddens me when I have to retire from the stage since they cannot know I do not age." she sighed, "But I do miss it sometimes." she gave a small smile, "I miss the costumes, and the music, the flowers...I do still sing, but I miss being able to share my music with others."
She was also excited about singing at the festival, but her friend's praise made her blush, "Oh Lynn! I'm flattered, but I'm only a small part of the entertainment. I'm only here because one of the clans here insisted I sing tonight." She frowned, "I can't believe he would recognise me even if he only saw me sing last in 1820."
"But enough about me, Cherie...tell me, what have you been up to out here?"

"Oh, he is special, you may even meet him during the festival." Lynn said with a smile and then watched as her friend seemed saddened by what she said. "I'm sorry, old friend I didn't-" She cut herself off and sighed. "I can understand that, it's the reason I had to leave the UN. I had them fooled thinking I was my own granddaughter." She found herself snorting that time. "But, those men and woman there can be crueler than any supernatural I know."
She then heard her friend talk about who invited her and tilted her head. "I have no idea who that may be, sadly we lost touch a bit sooner than that. And as you said, I will do my best to make sure that we never lose touch again." Lynn smiled brightly at Alavda.
When she asked what she was doing out here, her smiled wavered and she looked out at the sea. "I was afraid that if I stayed any longer, I may have caused more harm than good..and though these are not the mountains of home, it is still calming out here."

Alavda looked around at the scenery. There was a crescent moon in the star speckled sky that was now completely dark. Nights like this reminded her of that night she woke up in the woods, her neck itching from the blood that had dried from the gaping wound at her throat. She suppressed a shiver. She refused to think about it. It had haunted her for decades after...no, it still bothered her. She just couldn't understand why it had happened. They were so happy...it couldn't have been an act...it couldn't have...
...But it happened all the same.
Breathing deeply, she savored the scent of the ocean, "Yes, this place has it's own sort of beauty. I will be sad when I have to leave." Turning back to her friend, she smiled sweetly then said, "Well, enough of the past...let us go someplace and catch up. Does this sound good to you?"
